Human rights and AIDS activists took to the streets of Washington DC on the second day of the international AIDS Conference with cries of "we can end AIDS now"!
Thousands of people marched the centre of the US capital, dancing, ringing bells and waving signs to call attention to the fight against AIDS. Five groups of marchers converged on Lafayette square, opposite the White House, where speakers called for more funding, respect for human rights and an end to criminalization of sex workers, drug users and people living with HIV and AIDS. The Global Fund joined the march in support of the activists.
